Part-Time Position: 3 PM – 11 PM

The Gilbert Residence, proudly serving seniors in our community since 1960, is dedicated to providing exceptional care for 90 residents across our Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Nursing Care units. Our mission is to uphold a tradition of excellence by offering compassionate and dignified care to seniors.

As a Resident Assistant at The Gilbert Residence, you will deliver outstanding resident care under the supervision of a Med-Tech. Your responsibilities will include assisting residents with activities of daily living, leading or participating in resident activities, and performing general housekeeping duties within the assisted living or memory care unit. Our care philosophy centers on empowering residents to maintain an optimal level of independence, particularly in daily activities and social engagement.

Duties:

• Assist residents with bathing (tub or shower).
• Aid residents during meal times.
• Support residents with toileting (urinal, bedside commode, bathroom).
• Assist residents with grooming (hair care, nail care, foot care).
• Provide assistance with oral hygiene and denture care.
• Measure residents’ intake and output.
• Collect urine and stool specimens as necessary.
• Assist residents in transferring from beds, chairs, or wheelchairs.
• Support residents in using walkers, wheelchairs, canes, and braces.
• Perform range of motion exercises (both active and passive).
• Assist residents with ambulation.
• Help residents with bed making and daily room tidiness.
• Weigh residents and take vital signs.
• Provide post-mortem care when required.
• Adhere to standard precautions and special isolation techniques.
• Support residents in establishing a structured daily routine.
• Observe and report any changes in residents’ functions or behaviors.
• Assist in organizing and maintaining the cleanliness of residents’ personal clothing.
• Serve as an essential support to professional staff members.
• Attend staff meetings, in-service programs, and conferences on the unit.
• Perform any additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to understand and follow directions.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Capacity to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Positive attitude.
• Reliability is a must.
• Availability for weekend shifts is required.
