Job description:

Award-winning KS Associates is seeking an experienced civil engineer to lead our Site Development Group. The ideal candidate will be responsible for acquiring new clients, nurturing existing client relationships, participating in the recruitment and development of staff, and delivering services that not only meet but exceed client expectations while achieving targeted profit margins. This individual will report to senior management, engage in site design and plan preparation, allocate resources effectively, and spearhead the success of the group.

General Duties and Responsibilities:
Key duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Demonstrating project management skills to ensure that each project adheres to the applicable standards of care and contractual obligations.
  • Exercising effective management techniques to ensure that the Site Development Group staff have the necessary resources to fulfill client commitments.
  • Informing senior management about any issues that may hinder expected performance.
  • Actively participating in marketing and sales initiatives.
  • Providing guidance for staff development and reviewing employee performance.
  • Preparing client invoices and conducting periodic reviews of the Site Development Group’s performance alongside senior management.
  • Engaging in the establishment of goals for the Site Development Group and the organization as a whole.
  • Collaborating with other internal business units to support their success.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Must hold a license as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Ohio, possess a degree in civil engineering, and have a minimum of 15 years of experience within a consulting firm.
  • Technical expertise in the planning, design, and permitting of the civil engineering components for diverse land development and redevelopment projects is essential.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of AutoDesk Civil3D and various stormwater analysis and design tools is required.
  • Proven experience in obtaining various entitlements and permits from regulatory and governmental agencies.
  • Management experience should include establishing and maintaining relationships with clients, subordinates, and peers, along with bottom-line responsibility for assigned projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with a demonstrated ability to lead and participate in multidisciplinary teams.
