Job description:

The Holiday Inn Grand Rapids is seeking to add a Breakfast Server to our esteemed team. This position is crucial in delivering exemplary service to our guests during breakfast hours within the complimentary breakfast area of the hotel. The successful candidate will possess a thorough understanding of hotel-brand standards, guest expectations, and the distinctive features of both the hotel and the surrounding local area.

Responsibilities:

• Greet and serve guests in a polite, respectful, and professional manner, proactively addressing their needs to enhance their experience.
• Maintain consistent attendance and adhere to Aimbridge Hospitality standards, including uniform and grooming requirements.
• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of menus, tables, and service areas.
• Stock and maintain the bar and food service areas, performing side work duties such as dishwashing, restocking, and cleaning.
• Effectively communicate special guest requests and VIP details to relevant departments.
• Manage cashiering responsibilities, including closing checks and completing end-of-shift paperwork.
• Stay informed about hotel services, menu offerings, and local attractions.
• Follow opening and closing procedures and fulfill any other assigned duties.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent, or relevant experience in the hospitality industry.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be of legal age to serve alcohol and possess, or have the ability to obtain, responsible serving certification (e.g., TIPs).
• Capability to acquire and maintain a required Food Handler’s card.
