As an Assistant Executive Housekeeper, you will support the Executive Housekeeper in managing the housekeeping and laundry departments in accordance with Suburban Inns’ Core Values and brand standards. Your role will involve exceeding guest satisfaction and taking charge in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper.

Essential Functions:

  • Welcome all guests with a friendly demeanor and build personal connections to make them feel valued
  • Train housekeeping and laundry team members as necessary
  • Uphold accountability for team members in relation to Suburban Inns’ core values and performance standards
  • Implement disciplinary measures for team members as required, following Suburban Inns’ policies
  • Ensure housekeepers meet productivity standards, completing at least two rooms per hour without compromising quality
  • Assume responsibility in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper by performing tasks such as:
    • Printing and assigning daily housekeeping task sheets, noting any late check-outs and extra assignments
    • Collecting and storing lost and found items, maintaining them for a period of 90 days
    • Inputting clean room data into the computer system
    • Coordinating with the front desk to manage early check-outs and late check-outs appropriately
    • Cleaning guest rooms, public areas, and assisting with laundry as needed to meet brand standards
    • Inspecting due-out rooms to ensure cleanliness exceeds expectations
    • Sending housekeepers to correct any cleanliness issues immediately
    • Reporting safety concerns and maintenance issues to the appropriate department
    • Communicating any special room issues to the Guest Service Manager or other management for appropriate follow-up
    • Addressing team member concerns professionally and promptly, relaying any significant issues to the Executive Housekeeper
    • Ensuring compliance with Suburban Inns and brand standards at all times
    • Organizing storage rooms and promptly updating the Executive Housekeeper on supply needs
    • Maintaining reliable attendance records
    • Adhering to all Suburban Inns processes
    • Performing other duties as assigned by management

Position Requirements:

  • Knowledge: Ability to interpret information and perform arithmetic functions. Basic computer skills, record keeping, and effective communication are essential.
  • Experience: Minimum of six months in a related role is required.
  • Training: Hazcom Training and Bloodborne Pathogen Training are necessary.
  • Work Schedule: Flexibility to work days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends as business needs dictate.

Uniform and Appearance Guidelines:

  • Uniform: Uniform and name tag provided; team members must provide close-toed, non-slip shoes.
  • Appearance: Hair should be well-groomed, and all facial piercings and tattoos not covered by the uniform must receive management approval. Offensive tattoos based on sensitive characteristics must remain covered at all times. Management will enforce this policy fairly and consistently.
