Job Summary:
The Fitness Trainer will oversee the Planet Fitness group fitness program (PE@PF), which entails assisting new members in achieving their fitness goals through the design of straightforward workout programs and instruction on the proper usage of equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
– Recruit new and existing members to participate in fitness classes.
– Log attendance and details of each class session.
– Actively assist members during walkthroughs of the facility.
– Maintain cleanliness of assigned equipment sections during each shift.
– Conduct regular locker room checks every 15 minutes, as well as at the beginning and end of each shift.
– Serve as a brand ambassador by embodying the Judgement Free lifestyle.
– Adhere to and enforce facility rules and policies.
– Conduct and manage the Planet Fitness PE@PF program, including the creation and adherence to the class schedule.
– Consult with members about their fitness goals and provide instruction on the proper and safe usage of equipment.
– Generate bi-weekly updates that include a variety of exercise options.
– Meet class requirements based on club size and member traffic.
– Assist with front desk operations, including:
– Responding to phone inquiries in a friendly manner and addressing a variety of questions.
– Checking members into the system.
– Facilitating new member sign-ups.
– Conducting tours for prospective members.
– Addressing member questions and concerns promptly and professionally, escalating to the Assistant Manager or Manager as necessary.

Within two weeks of employment, fitness instructors are required to obtain one of the following certifications:
– ACE
– NASM
– ISSA
– NCSF

Additionally:
– Fitness instructors must complete training on tours, information calls, Datatrak, customer service expectations, and the mandatory courses offered by Planet Fitness University.

Qualifications / Requirements:
– High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
– CPR certification is mandatory.
– A nationally accredited training certification is required.
– Must be at least 18 years of age.
– Punctuality is essential.
– This position may require overtime, as well as availability on weekends, evenings, and holidays; flexibility is necessary.
