Commercial and Farm Property Claims Representative
Objective: The primary objective of the Commercial and Farm Property Claims Representative is to ensure the consistent implementation of company procedures and practices in the handling of commercial, residential, farm property, and property damage liability claims. This role is pivotal in enhancing customer satisfaction and retention by delivering high-quality service to insured clients. The representative will be responsible for meticulously investigating, evaluating, and resolving claims in compliance with contractual and legal obligations. Timeliness and fairness in service delivery to insureds, claimants, and the company are paramount.
Responsibilities:
– Investigate, evaluate, and manage property and casualty claims with general supervision.
– Develop a solid understanding of various building types, construction practices, repair costs, methods, and damage assessment.
– Acquire knowledge of farm machinery, livestock, and household furnishings.
– Communicate effectively with customers regarding loss settlement figures and claims processes.
– Explain policy language, coverage, and exclusions in an accessible manner.
– Understand and apply subrogation and salvage processes.
– Adjust reserves to reflect current known exposures and revise as necessary during the claim adjustment process.
– Serve as a resource and mentor to peers.
– Participate in projects to help develop solutions and processes.
– Manage medium-to-large loss claims, including managed repairs, independent adjusters, personal property, liability, and property damage claims.
– Assess and estimate losses related to commercial structures and business income.
Qualifications:
Required:
– A Bachelor’s degree focused on construction trades, agriculture, business administration, or a related field is preferred, though equivalent experience will be considered.
– A minimum of one to three years of experience in handling commercial property, farm, and/or liability claims is essential.
– In-depth knowledge of insurance contracts relevant to the company is required.
– Familiarity with company and divisional policies and procedures is necessary.
– Exceptional listening skills and superior customer service capabilities are mandatory.
– Proficiency in estimating systems as well as construction requirements and methods is expected.
– Access to high-speed internet from home is required.
– A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is necessary.
