Responsibilities and Duties:
The Skilled Caregiver or Home Health Aide will be responsible for providing personal care activities that assist patients with their daily living requirements. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Supporting personal hygiene needs (such as assistance with bathroom usage, bathing, oral care, shaving, skin, and hair care)
- Assisting with ambulation and transfers
- Preparing meals and ensuring a clean environment
- Helping with dressing and grooming tasks
- Accompanying patients on errands or medical appointments
- Performing housekeeping duties, including vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, mopping floors, washing dishes, changing bed linens, laundering, and cleaning bathrooms
Additionally, caregivers will execute patient-specific tasks as directed by a Right at Home nurse, which may include:
- Providing medication reminders
- Assisting with prescribed range of motion exercises
- Measuring and preparing special diets
- Understanding and facilitating dementia care
- Offering incontinence care
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. certificate preferred
- A minimum of three years of experience as a Caregiver or Home Health Aide in a healthcare setting, whether in homes or facilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, as required for the role
- A valid driver’s license and access to an insured automobile
