Job description:

Under general supervision, this position entails performing responsible technical work in the field of traffic engineering, particularly focused on investigating and analyzing traffic and transportation-related challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct investigations, collect data, and analyze traffic conditions, with a particular emphasis on traffic flow dynamics.
  2. Execute design studies and analyses concerning traffic-related issues tied to the design and placement of traffic structures and associated accessories.
  3. Evaluate the effectiveness of alternative traffic control devices and provide recommendations for the selection and arrangement of suitable equipment.
  4. Oversee the creation of maps and layouts for proposed traffic structures, including specifications of their general characteristics.
  5. Delegate tasks to subordinates, clearly outlining objectives and procedures, and review their work during the process and upon completion.
  6. May include supervision of Assistant Engineers and other technical staff members.
  7. Develop standard methods and formats for the collection and presentation of traffic data.
  8. Innovate traffic survey techniques.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in traffic engineering or a related field in traffic planning.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in traffic control within urban environments, coupled with statistical analysis and reporting of traffic data.
  • One year of supervisory experience is preferred.
