Job description:
Under general supervision, this position entails performing responsible technical work in the field of traffic engineering, particularly focused on investigating and analyzing traffic and transportation-related challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct investigations, collect data, and analyze traffic conditions, with a particular emphasis on traffic flow dynamics.
- Execute design studies and analyses concerning traffic-related issues tied to the design and placement of traffic structures and associated accessories.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of alternative traffic control devices and provide recommendations for the selection and arrangement of suitable equipment.
- Oversee the creation of maps and layouts for proposed traffic structures, including specifications of their general characteristics.
- Delegate tasks to subordinates, clearly outlining objectives and procedures, and review their work during the process and upon completion.
- May include supervision of Assistant Engineers and other technical staff members.
- Develop standard methods and formats for the collection and presentation of traffic data.
- Innovate traffic survey techniques.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in traffic engineering or a related field in traffic planning.
- A minimum of three years of experience in traffic control within urban environments, coupled with statistical analysis and reporting of traffic data.
- One year of supervisory experience is preferred.
