As a Safety Manager specializing in Commercial Mission Critical/Data Centers, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a safe work environment for our projects. This position is primarily based in Central Ohio, with opportunities for travel to various domestic locations in the future. Resumes are reviewed on a continuous basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and supervise safety guidelines for projects, ensuring compliance with the Caddell Corporate Safety Program.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Safety Manager to create safe work plans throughout all project phases and crew tasks.
  • Conduct thorough daily safety inspections of all active work areas, documenting findings systematically.
  • Provide consultation to field staff on safety issues, policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Facilitate initial safety orientation for new hires.
  • Monitor housekeeping practices to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Act as the construction safety liaison with owners and subcontractors.
  • Prepare and submit all necessary safety-related reports.
  • Conduct investigations following accidents and property damage incidents.
  • Undertake additional assignments as directed by the Corporate Safety Manager.

Working Conditions:
This role is situated in a construction setting with required travel. Candidates must possess the physical capability to crawl, climb, walk, reach, bend, kneel, crouch, and stand for extended periods. The ability to lift and carry over 50 lbs is essential. The role also demands the ability to work effectively in confined spaces and at extreme heights while maintaining safety standards. Candidates may be exposed to varied environmental conditions, including hot, cold, humid, and wet climates.

Reporting Structure:
Directly reports to the Corporate Safety Manager.

Expectations:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must, as well as exceptional organizational abilities. Familiarity with applicable OSHA regulations is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, is required.

Certifications and Licenses:
Candidates must possess an OSHA 30-hour certification, First Aid/CPR certification, and Competent Persons Training.

Education and Experience:
A minimum of a high school diploma/GED and five years of experience in safety management is required. A four-year degree in Occupational Safety and Health, along with ten years of relevant experience, is preferred. Requirements may vary based on specific job needs.

This position is associated with a Mission Critical/Data Center project and includes a market premium in addition to the base salary. The typical salary range is between $62,100 and $93,200 annually.
