Job description:

Plans, implements, and supervises project safety protocols, ensuring compliance with the Caddell Corporate Safety Program throughout all phases of the assigned project. Collaborates with the Corporate Safety Manager to develop safe work plans tailored to each project phase and crew task. Conducts comprehensive daily safety inspections in all active work areas, meticulously documenting findings. Provides guidance to field staff on safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Leads initial safety orientation for new hires to instill a culture of safety from the outset. Monitors housekeeping practices to maintain a clean and safe working environment. Acts as the construction safety liaison between owners and subcontractors. Prepares and submits all mandated safety-related reports while conducting investigations into incidents of accidents and property damage. Performs additional tasks as directed by the Corporate Safety Manager.

Working Conditions: This position requires working in a construction environment with travel obligations. The role involves physical activities such as crawling, climbing, walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, standing for extended periods, and lifting and carrying objects over 50 lbs. Effective communication is vital, alongside the ability to work in confined spaces or at extreme heights safely. Candidates should be prepared for varying weather conditions, including hot, cold, humid, and wet environments based on job location.

Reporting Structure: This role reports directly to the Corporate Safety Manager.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Successful candidates will demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills, exceptional organizational abilities, a solid understanding of applicable OSHA regulations, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Certifications and Licenses: Required certifications include OSHA 30-hour training, First Aid/CPR certification, and Competent Persons Training.

Education and Experience: A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required, along with five years of experience in safety management. A preferred candidate will possess a four-year degree in Occupational Safety and Health and have at least ten years of relevant experience.
