Job description:

We are currently seeking enthusiastic individuals for full-time Barista positions at Youngstown State University.

This role involves creating and serving a variety of coffee and espresso drinks, as well as related food and beverage items. Adherence to HACCP guidelines and food service quality standards is essential, along with maintaining a clean and organized service area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare espresso orders for customers and catering, using established recipes and measures.
  • Accurately enter orders into the POS system and handle cash and charge payments.
  • Restock condiments, beverages, and supplies while ensuring cleanliness of the service area.
  • Maintain proper presentation and serving temperatures, in compliance with HACCP standards.
  • Ensure sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, utensils, and supplies.
  • Follow approved recipes to guarantee proper food preparation and portion control.
  • Keep display areas clean and free from debris throughout meal service.
  • Clean equipment and workstations thoroughly before transitioning to other assignments.
  • Provide courteous customer service, ensuring satisfaction and relaying any concerns to supervisors.
  • Serve customers promptly to prevent delays and demonstrate in-depth knowledge of menu items.
  • Utilize effective communication and selling techniques to enhance the customer purchasing experience.
  • Ensure all display foods are presented attractively and served neatly.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
