Job description:
The Catering Manager is responsible for supporting and managing catering activities, as well as assisting concession managers with the profitable operation of concessions. This role entails independently initiating and authorizing all employment actions, including hiring, termination, suspension, discipline, promotion, and transfer. The Catering Manager will play a pivotal role in managing employee relations to promote a positive, harmonious, compliant, and collaborative work environment.

Key responsibilities include overseeing employee performance issues and providing high-level event oversight, technical proficiency, and operational support to ensure the seamless execution of assigned events. A critical component of this position is to actively mentor, train, and assist employees and volunteers in meeting the company’s quality standards. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to attendance and be available for a variable, event-driven schedule that includes evenings and weekends. Additionally, a professional appearance, outstanding interpersonal skills, self-direction, and a solid technical aptitude (including computer and POS systems) are essential.

This role offers a competitive salary range of $50,000 to $60,000. Full-time employees are eligible for benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance; a 401(k) savings plan with matching; and paid time off encompassing vacation days, sick days, and twelve holidays. The position will remain open until December 31, 2024.

Responsibilities:
– Assist in the effective management of catering and concessions operations.
– Ensure full compliance with all alcohol service policies; actively monitor alcohol service during events and report any compliance issues to management.
– Provide ongoing direction, supervision, and mentorship to hourly event staff, ensuring product quality and exceptional guest service.
– Troubleshoot technical issues related to Point of Sale systems, addressing both hardware and software concerns.
– Assist with vault operations, including opening, closing, and balancing as necessary.
– Generate event employee schedules and verify employee time records as needed.
– Support ongoing training, development, and supervision of hourly employees under the direction of department managers; document employee performance and attendance in accordance with company policies.
– Manage catered events from setup to teardown, facilitating communication between hourly staff, culinary staff, and guests.

Qualifications:
– An Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
– Three to five years of experience in catering or concessions.
– Concessions Manager Certificate from the National Association of Concessionaires.
– Certification from a nationally recognized advanced food service sanitation training course.
– Familiarity with inventory cost control and menu planning.
– Basic proficiency in computer applications, including email, Excel, Word, Outlook, and scheduling tools.
– Working knowledge of Point of Sale and timekeeping systems.
– Cash handling capabilities and basic math skills, including proficiency in number manipulation.
– Adaptability to work a variable schedule, including evenings and weekends as required by business needs.
– Strong verbal and written communication skills.
