General Summary:
This position entails leading and coordinating management-level recruiting while collaborating with our sales management teams throughout the hiring process for both representative and managerial roles. Responsibilities include sourcing, attracting, and selecting candidates for all 1099 contract sales positions, as well as delivering training to Colonial Life sales managers regarding the recruiting and contracting processes. The candidate will work closely with Territory Sales Managers within designated geographic areas and will have the backing of a centralized team of national recruiting project managers.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, manage, and maintain a robust pipeline of candidates for all of Colonial Life’s 1099 roles.
- Source candidates for local teams, with a primary focus on sales management positions.
- Manage and follow up on candidate leads in your pipeline.
- Provide lead management and training support for growth-oriented District Managers (DGA) and Agency Development Managers (ADM) within assigned territories.
- Ensure the opportunity to contract process is effectively implemented in all assigned territories and districts.
- Assist management with interview and selection processes as appropriate, emphasizing training and development.
- Implement a recruitment strategy within each territory utilizing various tools—including nominator calls, personal referrals, job boards, networking events, and career fairs—and set a positive example.
- Conduct and support career attraction events, sharing best practices and guidelines for planning such events.
- Proactively execute the national recruiting strategy in partnership with Territory Sales Managers to source and recruit quality leaders for DGA and ADM roles, including active sourcing and networking, and implementing a high-volume candidate outreach strategy.
- Perform joint field work to ensure district teams are knowledgeable about available tools, resources, and processes to support their recruiting strategies.
- Conduct phone screenings and initial interviews.
- Assist candidates with licensing and contracting requirements as needed.
- Facilitate recruitment training sessions with growth-focused managers, including training affiliated with Colonial Life College; conduct joint recruiting activities such as interviews and appointment setting.
- Collaborate with National Recruiting to provide additional training and support for 1099 managers in your territories.
- Assist business partners with the broker contract process.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Job Specifications:
- Previous experience in recruiting and/or sales is required.
- Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in using computer applications, tracking spreadsheets, Applicant Tracking Systems, and online contracting software.
- Experience within the insurance industry and sourcing contractors is preferred.
- Strong belief in 1099 opportunities and ability to engage potential leadership candidates from both within and outside the insurance sector.
- Proactive self-starter with exceptional time management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to train and coach hiring managers and partners effectively, both in formal settings and in the field.
- Self-motivated and highly energetic.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time.
- Ability to maintain a positive corporate image and professionalism when representing Colonial Life, both in the office and in the field.
Compensation:
This position offers a competitive compensation structure consisting of a base salary ranging from $75,000 to $80,000, along with supplemental incentive compensation based on experience, location, and other relevant factors.
