As a Safety Manager specializing in Commercial and Mission Critical/Data Center projects, you will be instrumental in safeguarding the well-being of our workforce and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Your role will be based in Central Ohio with opportunities for travel to various domestic locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee project safety protocols in alignment with the Caddell Corporate Safety Program, assuring adherence to accident and fire protection standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Safety Manager to create safe work plans tailored to each phase of the project and each crew’s tasks.
  • Execute rigorous daily safety inspections of all active work zones, maintaining thorough documentation of findings.
  • Advise field personnel on safety-related issues, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitate initial safety orientation sessions for new employees to ensure awareness and compliance from the start.
  • Oversee housekeeping practices to maintain a clean and safe workplace environment.
  • Act as the primary safety contact with owners and subcontractors during construction operations.
  • Prepare and submit all mandated safety-related reports in a timely manner.
  • Conduct investigations following accidents or property damage incidents to identify root causes and preventative measures.
  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned by the Corporate Safety Manager.

Working Conditions:
This position entails working in a construction setting with required travel. The role demands considerable physical stamina, including the ability to crawl, climb, walk, reach, bend, kneel, crouch, and stand for extended periods. Candidates should be capable of lifting over 50 lbs, have effective communication abilities, and endure confined spaces or extreme heights while maintaining safety standards. Working conditions may vary, exposing you to hot, cold, humid, or wet environments.

Reporting Structure:
You will report directly to the Corporate Safety Manager.

Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: You should possess strong written and verbal communication skills, exceptional organizational capabilities, and a solid understanding of applicable OSHA regulations. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) is also required.

Certifications and Licenses: Candidates must have an OSHA 30-hour certification, First Aid/CPR certification, and Competent Persons Training.

Education and Experience: A minimum of a high school diploma or GED and five years of experience in safety management is required. A four-year degree in Occupational Safety and Health and ten years of relevant experience is preferred. This position focuses on a Mission Critical/Data Center project and offers a market premium addition to the base salary.
