Job description:
Performs a variety of duties related to the general servicing of aircraft, including fueling, parking, towing, and moving aircraft, while delivering exceptional service to crew members, passengers, and clients utilizing St. Clair County International Airport. Responsibilities also encompass general custodial and maintenance tasks for the airport’s buildings, runways, and grounds.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
– Fuel and de-ice aircraft as necessary.
– Greet, park, tow, move, and marshal aircraft both arriving and departing the airfield.
– Manage payment transactions through a point-of-sale system.
– Accurately track aircraft fueling, payment transactions, and cash drawer operations.
– Handle incoming phone calls and transfer as needed.
– Adhere to all aviation safety protocols and regulations.
– Conduct daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual quality assurance checks on fuel and delivery systems.
– Assist passengers and crew with baggage and cargo handling.
– Provide professional customer service and support for hotel, car, and other travel reservations.
– Coordinate and confirm catering orders with local restaurants.
– Assist with wing-walking duties during aircraft movements.
– Perform cleaning and maintenance tasks, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and waxing furniture and floors.
– Maintain cleanliness in restrooms.

– Operate various maintenance and custodial equipment and tools.

– Be available for on-call snow removal and airport emergencies 24/7.
– Perform additional duties as assigned.

Supervision Received:
This position operates under the direct supervision of the Airport Director.

Experience, Skills, Education:
– A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
– Experience in general maintenance and operation of heavy equipment is necessary.
– Prior experience in airport operations and/or aviation is preferred but not mandatory.
– Certification in Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and CPR is required.
– Basic knowledge of firefighting techniques is necessary.
– Familiarity with materials and equipment used in airfield, building, and grounds maintenance is essential.
– Proficient understanding of electrical systems, along with a basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, and heavy equipment repair.
– Comprehension of airfield safety standards and airfield maintenance principles.
– Ability to remain composed under pressure.
– Proficient in writing, reading, math, and computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.

Conditions of Employment:

– Required to obtain MDOT DEQ Industrial Storm Water Certification within 90 days of employment.
– Must hold valid certifications in CPR, first aid, and AED, or successfully complete training within 90 days of employment.
