Caddell is seeking a highly skilled Safety Manager for our Commercial – Mission Critical/Data Centers projects. This role requires travel to various domestic locations, starting in Central Ohio.

As a Safety Manager, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and supervising project safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with the Caddell Corporate Safety Program. Key responsibilities include:

– Developing safe work plans in collaboration with the Corporate Safety Manager for all phases and tasks of the project.
– Conducting thorough daily safety inspections of all work areas and documenting findings.
– Addressing safety issues, policies, procedures, and regulations with field staff.
– Leading initial safety orientation sessions for new employees.
– Monitoring housekeeping practices to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
– Acting as the construction safety liaison with owners and subcontractors.
– Preparing and submitting all mandated safety-related reports.
– Conducting investigations following accidents or property damage.
– Completing additional assignments as directed by the Corporate Safety Manager.

Working conditions will be in a construction setting, with full-time travel requirements. The role necessitates physical capabilities, including crawling, climbing, walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, standing for extended periods, and lifting more than 50 lbs. The ability to work in confined spaces and at extreme heights is also essential. You will be exposed to varying environmental conditions, including heat, cold, humidity, and wetness, depending on the location.

Reporting structure: This position reports directly to the Corporate Safety Manager.

We expect candidates to possess effective written and verbal communication skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a solid working knowledge of applicable OSHA regulations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) is required.

Certifications and licenses necessary for this role include OSHA 30-hour, First Aid/CPR, and Competent Persons Training. Education and experience requirements include a minimum of a high school diploma or GED with at least five years of experience in safety management. A four-year degree in Occupational Safety and Health with ten years of experience is preferred.
