Dishwasher Position Summary:
The primary responsibility of the Dishwasher is to wash and appropriately store all cooking utensils, china, equipment, flatware, and glassware. This must be done in accordance with local health department regulations, as well as the Core Values and standards of Suburban Inns and Big E’s. The Dishwasher is expected to go above and beyond to ensure that guests are completely satisfied.

Essential Functions:

• Greet guests in a friendly and positive manner, fostering personal connections to ensure they feel welcome and valued
• Wash all items using the dishwashing machine or manual methods in adherence to the highest sanitation standards
• Collect and dispose of trash from all kitchen areas, empty garbage cans, wash and reline them with new bags, break down boxes and crates, and remove debris, while examining garbage for reusable items
• Clean and polish all stainless steel surfaces in the kitchen, including shelves, dish cabinets, ice machines, refrigerators, and walk-in freezers
• Store all dishes and other wares in their designated areas
• Clean the dish machine and dishwashing area after each meal period
• Alert the supervisor when inventories of soap, chemicals, and paper towels are running low
• Conduct regular inspections of kitchen floors to ensure cleanliness and safety
• Assist with the completion of the weekly kitchen cleaning and maintenance checklist
• Properly clean and store all brooms, mops, and cleaning equipment
• Maintain regular and consistent attendance
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Position Requirements:

Work Schedule:

Uniform and Appearance Guidelines:

• Uniform: A uniform shirt and hat will be provided. Team members are responsible for wearing Suburban Inns-approved black slacks or Dockers (no yoga-style pants) and black, closed-toe, non-slip shoes.
• Appearance: Hair must be well-groomed. Any facial piercings or tattoos not covered by the uniform must receive management approval. Tattoos deemed offensive to co-workers, guests, vendors, or others in the workplace must remain covered. This policy will be enforced by the supervisor without regard to protected characteristics. The Vice President of Operations may override any supervisory decision regarding this policy.
