As a Safety Manager for our Commercial mission-critical and data center projects, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our teams on-site. This position is based primarily in Central Ohio, with potential travel to other domestic locations in the future.
Key Responsibilities:
– Develop, implement, and supervise safety guidelines that align with the Caddell Corporate Safety Program to ensure compliance throughout all project phases.
– Collaborate closely with the Corporate Safety Manager to establish safe work plans tailored for specific project tasks and crews.
– Conduct comprehensive daily inspections of all active work areas, documenting findings systematically.
– Offer guidance to field staff regarding safety issues, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
– Facilitate initial safety orientation sessions for newly hired employees.
– Monitor housekeeping practices to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
– Act as the construction safety liaison between the owner and subcontractors.
– Prepare and deliver all required safety-related reports in a timely manner.
– Conduct thorough investigations in the event of accidents or property damage.
– Carry out additional tasks as directed by the Corporate Safety Manager.
Working Conditions:
This role operates primarily in a construction environment that necessitates travel. The ability to perform physical tasks, including crawling, climbing, walking, bending, kneeling, standing for extended periods, and lifting over 50 lbs, is essential. Candidates must also be capable of working in confined spaces and at heights safely. Exposure to varying weather conditions—hot, cold, humid, and wet—may occur.

Certifications:

Education / Experience:
– A minimum of a high school diploma or GED, along with at least five years of experience in safety management, is required.
– A four-year degree in Occupational Safety and Health, coupled with ten years of experience, is preferred.

Compensation:
This position, focused on Mission Critical/Data Center projects, is eligible for a market premium on top of the base salary.
