General Summary:
This role is pivotal in leading and coordinating management-level recruitment efforts while assisting our sales management teams in the recruitment process for both representative and managerial positions. Responsibilities include sourcing, attracting, and selecting candidates for all 1099 contract sales roles, along with providing training to Colonial Life sales managers on the recruitment and contracting processes. You will collaborate closely with Territory Sales Managers within designated geographical areas, supported by a centralized team of project managers in national recruiting.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, manage, and maintain a candidate pipeline for all Colonial Life 1099 roles.
- Source candidates personally, with a particular emphasis on sales management positions.
- Manage and follow up on candidate leads within your pipeline.
- Provide lead management and training support for growth-oriented District Managers (DGA) and Agency Development Managers (ADM).
- Ensure a comprehensive contracting process is established for territories and districts in assigned areas.
- Assist managers with the interview and selection processes, focusing on training and development.
- Implement a targeted recruiting strategy for each territory utilizing various tools (nominator calls, personal referrals, job boards, networking events, career fairs, etc.) and serve as a role model.
- Conduct and support career attraction events while sharing best practices and guidelines for planning these events.
- Proactively execute the national recruiting manager’s strategy, in collaboration with your Territory Sales Managers, to source, attract, and recruit high-quality candidates for DGA and ADM roles.
- Perform fieldwork to ensure district teams are equipped with knowledge of available tools, resources, and processes to enhance their recruiting strategies.
- Conduct phone screenings and initial interviews with candidates.
- Assist candidates with licensing and contracting as necessary.
- Facilitate recruiting training sessions for growth-minded managers, incorporating Colonial Life College curriculum, and conducting joint recruitment activities (interviews, setting appointments, nominator calls, etc.).
- Collaborate with National Recruiting to offer additional training and support for 1099 managers within your assigned territories.
- Assist business partners with the broker contract process.
- Undertake other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications:
- Experience in recruiting and/or sales.
- Exceptional presentation and written/verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with computer websites, tracking spreadsheets, Applicant Tracking Systems, and online contracting software.
- Preferably experienced in the insurance industry and with sourcing 1099/contractors.
- Strong belief in the 1099 opportunity and capability to attract leadership candidates from both inside and outside the insurance sector.
- Self-starter with minimal need for direction, demonstrating outstanding time management skills.
- Proven experience in effective and results-oriented training and coaching with hiring managers or 1099 partners, both in classroom settings and onsite with candidates.
- Highly self-motivated and energetic.
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration abilities.
- Willingness to travel up to 40%.
- Maintain a positive corporate image and professionalism while representing Colonial Life in both office and field settings.
Compensation:
The compensation for this position includes a base salary ranging from $75,000 to $80,000, commensurate with experience, location, and other factors.
