Our ideal candidate will have cloud-centric, data reliability and infrastructure as code (IaC) experience. Experience with cloud data platforms Databricks and Snowflake are highly desired, as are experience with Terraform, CI/CD automation and infrastructure design and build management. Our Data Engineering Team is a highly technical group of results driven engineers, analysts and architects focused on providing our internal and external clients with high quality, repeatable and scalable data solutions. The work of this Platform Data Engineering team helps get more people the medicine they need to live healthier lives. NOTE: This team is not responsible for transforming and preparing data for use in reporting or analytics. The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) – Data Platforms will support and expand the data platforms that process, store, and organize the data critical for the Data and Analytics teams. This individual will participate in the technical strategy and execution to provide trusted, stable, reliable, responsive, and secure solutions and proactively inform business partners on our data & analytics platform, product health, and problem resolution. The Site Reliability Engineer – Data Platforms will work with our Data Systems Analysts and our Analytics and Technology partners to solve business problems and deliver solutions. This person will be responsible for managing multiple systems related to data marts and analytics solutions and serve as an SRE for the DE organization, ensuring systems are setup to scale with security and performance and operational efficiency in mind.Position DescriptionProvide production support and troubleshooting for multiple databases and systems responsible for data replication and transformationAssist with migration and implementation of new systems in the cloudRecommend and make improvements to existing systems and processes to improve reliability, security and scalabilityWork with application development teams and other DE teams to determine data flow in the source system and architect an appropriate flow into the data warehouseUnder the guidance of a senior engineer, design and develop solutions and commissions of complex data across systems for McKesson/CoverMyMeds internal and external customersSkills You’ll NeedBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, and typically has 4+ years of professional experience in site reliability / data reliability engineeringExperience with cloud infrastructure for Databricks and Snowflake (2+ years of Snowflake preferred)Strong, hands-on experience as a technologist working with data warehouse systems, cloud technology, and large-scale, high performance data solutionsAdministration and performance optimization for Databricks and/or Snowflake and implementing data mesh solution to reduce data replication needsExperience with cloud data technologies including VMs, Docker/Kubernetes applications, and distributed networks with different operating systems such as Linux and WindowsExperience with infrastructure as a service and the use of Terraform and Github Actions to automate deploymentWorked with structured and unstructured data and within batch and real-time data streaming environmentsExperience supporting Reporting and Analytics systems for Data Quality, Cataloging and GovernanceProficient use of Python for data flows and scripting of administrative tasksExperience working with sensitive data with regularly audited IT General ControlsExperience with business-critical applicationsExperience on large-scale implementation programsPreferred SkillsExperience with Snowflake, Qlik Replicate, MSSQL Server are a plusExcellent written and verbal communication skills, allowing for timely communication with clear expectations – an active listener and clear communicator who can lead by influenceAbility to find creative solutions to complex problemsExhibit a strong sense of urgency and ownership for task/project completionHighly adept at working collaboratively across multiple business and technical functions to achieve resultsWe are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson as part of our Total Rewards.
