Job Description:
We are seeking a qualified Safety Manager to oversee safety operations for our commercial projects, specifically within the Mission Critical/Data Centers sector. This role requires travel and will initially be based in Central Ohio, with future opportunities in various domestic locations. Resumes will be reviewed on a continual basis.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and oversee project-specific safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with the Caddell Corporate Safety Program in relation to accident prevention and fire protection.
- Collaborate with the Corporate Safety Manager to devise safe work plans for all phases of projects and associated crew tasks.
- Conduct rigorous daily safety inspections of active work areas, documenting findings.
- Advise field staff on safety matters, policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
- Facilitate initial safety orientation sessions for newly hired employees.
- Monitor and enforce housekeeping practices to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Act as the safety liaison for construction activities between the company, owners, and subcontractors.
- Prepare and submit all necessary safety-related reports.
- Conduct thorough investigations following accidents or property damages.
- Undertake additional assignments as directed by the Corporate Safety Manager.
Working Conditions:
This position operates primarily within a construction setting, necessitating travel and a full-time commitment. Candidates should possess the physical capability to crawl, climb, walk, reach with hands and arms, bend, kneel, crouch, stand for extended periods, and lift and hold items weighing more than 50 lbs. Additionally, the manager must be able to withstand confined spaces and extreme heights while performing tasks safely. The role also entails exposure to varying environmental conditions including hot, cold, humid, and wet environments.
Reporting Structure:
The Safety Manager will report directly to the Corporate Safety Manager.
Expectations:
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong written and verbal communication skills, exceptional organizational abilities, a foundational understanding of applicable OSHA regulations, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Certifications/Licenses: OSHA 30-hour certification, First Aid/CPR certification, and Competent Persons Training are required.
- Education/Experience: A minimum of a high school diploma/GED and five years of experience in safety management is required; however, a four-year degree in Occupational Safety and Health and ten years of experience is preferred. Educational and experience requirements may vary based on specific job demands.
This position will focus on a Mission Critical/Data Center project and is eligible for a market premium added to the base salary.
