Job Description:
As a Safety Manager for Commercial Mission Critical/Data Center projects, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and supervising project safety guidelines in alignment with the Caddell Corporate Safety Program. Your primary objective will be to ensure compliance with accident prevention and fire protection protocols throughout all project phases.
Key Responsibilities:
– Develop safe work plans in collaboration with the Corporate Safety Manager, tailored to each project phase and crew task.
– Conduct comprehensive daily safety inspections of all active work areas and maintain detailed documentation of these inspections.
– Provide expert consultation to field staff regarding safety issues, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
– Facilitate initial safety orientation sessions for newly hired employees to instill a culture of safety from the outset.
– Oversee housekeeping practices on-site to ensure a clean and safe environment for all workers.
– Act as the liaison for safety communications between construction personnel, owners, and subcontractors.
– Prepare and submit all mandated safety-related reports in a timely manner.
– Lead investigations into accidents and property damage, developing insights for future prevention.
– Undertake additional assignments as directed by the Corporate Safety Manager.
Working Conditions:
This position will be performed in a construction setting that requires travel. Candidates must be physically capable of crawling, climbing, walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, standing for extended periods, and lifting over 50 lbs. The role necessitates the ability to navigate confined spaces and work at extreme heights safely. Exposure to varying environmental conditions such as heat, cold, humidity, and wetness is expected.
Reporting Structure:
This role will report directly to the Corporate Safety Manager.
Expectations:
The ideal candidate will possess strong written and verbal communication skills, exceptional organizational capabilities, and a solid understanding of OSHA regulations. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) is essential.
Certifications and Experience:
Candidates must hold an OSHA 30-hour certification, First Aid/CPR certification, and Competent Persons Training. A minimum of a high school diploma or GED, combined with five years of experience in safety management, is required. A four-year degree in Occupational Safety and Health along with ten years of relevant experience is preferred, although the education and experience criteria may vary depending on specific job requirements.
This position is focused on Mission Critical/Data Center projects and includes eligibility for a market premium in addition to the base salary.
