Location: Marysville, Ohio – Hybrid Remote role (~75% remote)

Job Purpose
We are currently seeking a visionary Senior Data Architect to join our Data Architecture team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in defining and refining data architecture standards and best practices, encompassing the vision, strategy, and principles for managing and interacting with governed data. Your contributions will include crafting high-performance data pipelines, ensuring data integrity, and expanding both data access and governance. You will collaborate cross-functionally with data analysts, business analysts, and stakeholders to comprehend data requirements and design scalable and efficient data models and reporting systems. Your expertise will empower Honda to advance high-performance data systems, maintain data integrity, and extend the utility and governance of our data resources.

Key Accountabilities

  • Collaborate with Team and Unit leadership to define and realize long-term strategic goals for data architecture—creating, prioritizing, and effectively delivering on our vision.
  • Design, develop, and promote data strategy, architecture, methodologies, and standards for contemporary platforms.
  • Provide vision and thought leadership in High-Level Architecture and Design to establish comprehensive data architecture frameworks.
  • Implement impactful strategic plans that enhance data integration, quality, and delivery in alignment with business initiatives and roadmaps.
  • Support the formulation of technology strategies and roadmaps within data and analytics platforms.
  • Engage with business stakeholders to identify needs and develop architectural solutions.
  • Create, maintain, and define Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Data Models for various projects, employing relational theory and dimensional modeling while aligning with Enterprise Architecture.
  • Drive business outcomes through efficient management of data pipelines, ensuring integrity and accessibility.
  • Deliver substantial business value by enhancing data pipeline performance, ensuring timely orchestration, and maintaining robust data governance.
  • Assess and recommend emerging technologies pertinent to data management, storage, and analytics.
  • Cultivate strong partnerships across North America and globally, fostering trust and addressing stakeholder needs.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or equivalent work experience.

Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience in data management, specifically in data architecture with a solid foundation in data modeling and data structures (such as star schemas and OLAP cubes).
  • 7+ years of experience in Data Analysis, Information Management, and Business Intelligence.
  • 5+ years of advanced expertise in designing and working with multi-dimensional data modeling, including entity relationships, star/snowflake schemas, hierarchies, attributes, measures, and granularity/aggregation.

Skills:

  • Proven prowess in designing and implementing modern data architectures and concepts, including cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP), real-time data distribution (Kafka, Dataflow), and contemporary data warehouse tools (Redshift, Snowflake, Databricks).
  • Proficient in various database platforms, including DB2, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Couchbase, MongoDB, RDS, and DynamoDB.
  • Knowledgeable in master data management, data cataloging, and organizing data via multi-dimensional analysis.
  • Proficient with tools such as Power BI, Tableau, BO, QuickSight, Synapse, and Qlik.
  • Capable of adapting to and mastering new technologies, particularly in advanced data analytics and AI/ML.
  • Familiar with relevant data privacy practices and regulations.
