Position Overview:
The Corporate and Community Engagement Manager will spearhead corporate fundraising initiatives, strategies, and outcomes in southeast Michigan, particularly in support of the metro Detroit Programmatic Hub. This role will involve building and managing a personal portfolio aimed at achieving an annual revenue goal, with a focus on cultivating relationships with both corporate and small business partners to drive financial support for our mission. Additionally, you will develop an impactful corporate and community volunteer program designed to deepen engagement and enhance visibility for Samaritas.
The Manager will report to the Senior Director of Corporate & Community Engagement and collaborate closely with the Executive Director of Fund Development and Grants. Samaritas promotes a supportive, hybrid work environment that allows for primarily remote work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Fund Development team and east Michigan program leadership to understand organizational needs and strategies, serving as an essential partner within the Detroit Hub.
- Cultivate and manage a personal portfolio of corporate partners to achieve a revenue goal exceeding $100K, developing tailored proposals and presentations to highlight partnership opportunities.
- Assist in crafting and executing comprehensive fundraising strategies tailored to corporations and small businesses to secure financial support for Samaritas’ mission and programs, identifying key connections among corporate, individual, and community philanthropic opportunities.
- Play a vital role in expanding the corporate partner portfolio through the identification of new prospects and the enhancement of existing relationships.
- Actively engage in key community networking and leadership organizations, events, and conferences to promote the Samaritas brand and strengthen partnership and acquisition efforts.
- Design and implement a corporate volunteer program that aligns with Samaritas’ mission, culminating in impactful events each year to enhance corporate visibility and engagement.
- Manage corporate communications, including newsletters, ensuring consistent messaging that aligns with our outreach goals.
- Plan and coordinate corporate-level events that engage partners, enhancing their visibility alongside that of Samaritas.
- Track and report the effectiveness of corporate partnerships and volunteer initiatives, demonstrating the community impact of external support through the GalaxyDigital software platform, and provide mentorship to program volunteer coordinators.
- Ensure all fund development activities align with the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Philanthropy, Business, Management, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, English, or a related field; equivalent experience is also acceptable.
- Experience: A minimum of three to five years’ experience in non-profit fund development and corporate giving, preferably within southeast Michigan, with a strong understanding of local corporate social responsibility (CSR) trends.

- Availability for extended or evening hours as needed.
- Valid unrestricted driver’s license with a good driving record and proof of automobile insurance; personal vehicle usage required with mileage reimbursement.
