The Reserve at Red Run, the newest senior independent living facility in Madison Heights, is seeking skilled cooks to join our team. We are looking for individuals who embody a positive attitude and are eager to contribute to enhancing the quality of life for our residents. Our state-of-the-art facility is purposefully designed for the next generation of seniors, and we invite you to help us deliver outstanding culinary experiences.
As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and coordinating food that meets and exceeds our community’s quality, quantity, and service standards, utilizing a modern kitchen and a ‘cook to order’ menu. Exceptional food plays a crucial role in enriching the lives of our residents.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve meals for community members.
- Coordinate and assist in managing meal service efficiently.
- Maintain sanitation standards in food service areas.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping for inventory and meal preparation.
- Receive, inspect, and rotate inventory as needed.
- Prepare meals that cater to special dietary requirements.
- Create texture-modified food as requested.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal food handling regulations.
- Monitor compliance with quality service standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED is required; an Associate degree in Culinary Arts is preferred.
- A minimum of one year of experience in a restaurant setting is required, with a focus on cooking meals in large quantities.
- Serve Safe certification is preferred; menu planning experience is a plus.
- Ability to multitask effectively.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Proficiency in English communication is essential.

Requirements:
- Availability to work every other weekend is required.
