Job Summary
As a Patient Services Representative with Corewell Health, you will be indispensable in providing exceptional healthcare services to our patients. You will collaborate with a dedicated team to deliver registration, concierge, and clerical support, significantly impacting the lives of those we serve.

Essential Functions
You will be responsible for resolving complex patient and customer issues, employing high-level discernment during patient registrations in treatment rooms. Your administrative responsibilities will encompass a range of tasks, including assisting with patient check-outs, scheduling appointments, managing referrals, coordinating in-office procedures, surgeries, and tests, as well as reviewing medical records associated with incoming referrals. Additionally, you will maintain and modify provider templates, navigate external patient referral portals, and reconcile deposits across multiple departments.

You will obtain insurance authorizations and verify that prior authorizations are secured while assisting with retroactive insurance denials and appeals. Managing complex electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) is essential, including scanning documents and uploading to EPIC via Right Fax. You will also take an active role in training new team members utilizing standardized processes.

You must be prepared to perform the duties of a Patient Services Representative Associate as needed. Your participation in safety initiatives and the execution of risk-mitigation measures are vital, as is completing all safety-related competencies and requirements promptly.

Qualifications
Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience in insurance billing, access management, patient financial services, electronic health records, lab service support, or other related roles
