SUMMARY OF POSITION
The role entails providing friendly and efficient service to guests in accordance with company policies, procedures, and performance standards, ensuring maximum guest satisfaction and a high-quality work environment as directed by the manager on duty. Responsibilities also include maintaining cleanliness and excellent conditions in kitchen work areas, restaurant common areas, and all dining ware and utensils.
POSITION ACTIVITIES AND TASKS
- Maintain the dish area to ensure cleanliness and organization.
- Arrive to work well-groomed, in a clean and appropriate uniform while practicing good personal hygiene.
- Organize soiled dishes, silverware, and glassware into washer trays and pre-rinse all items prior to washing.
- Load trays into the dishwasher and remove cleaned items to stock the kitchen staff and servers.
- Wash pots and pans in a three-compartment sink, ensuring they are properly air-dried without stacking.
- Ensure all silverware is kept out of the trash and maintain the cleanliness of all workstations.
- Engage in side work during periods of downtime, including rolling silverware, restocking condiments, cleaning work areas, and maintaining restrooms.
- Communicate any issues or concerns to the General Manager or Manager on Duty, proposing alternative solutions as necessary.
- Assist crew members and remove soiled dishes from the cook’s line, providing clean dishes as needed.
- Keep the dish area and prep kitchen organized, swept, mopped, and dry.
- Assist in putting away food deliveries and breaking down boxes, as well as removing trash and recyclables.
- Regularly check the parking lot and surrounding grounds for cleanliness.
- Support kitchen staff with food preparation while adhering to safe food handling practices.
- Perform other duties and tasks as instructed by the manager on duty.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ENVIRONMENT/WORKING CONDITIONS
- Capable of extensive standing and walking for up to 8 hours.
- Able to see at a distance of 20 feet and at close range of 12 inches, with clear distinction between shapes while utilizing peripheral vision to avoid hazards.
- Must possess strong communication skills.
- Exposure to varying temperatures, including heat, steam, smoke, and cold.
- Ability to reach heights of approximately 6 feet and depths of 2.5 to 3 feet.
- Must demonstrate mobility and flexibility within the confines of the workspace.
- Strong time management skills are required.
- Must fit through openings that are 30 inches wide.
- Expected to work irregular hours under pressure during peak times.
- Duties involve bending, reaching, and walking.
- Capable of carrying trays weighing up to 50 pounds for distances up to 30 feet.
- Must be able to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Exposure to dish and cleaning chemicals is present.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
