Job description:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Member Services Representative to join our team on a part-time basis during weekends and afternoons. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional customer service to Planet Fitness members, prospective members, and guests, ensuring a distinguished "Judgment Free" experience for all.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service and Front Desk Activities:

• Welcome members and guests with outstanding customer service, fostering a comfortable and friendly atmosphere.
• Handle phone inquiries in a welcoming manner, assisting callers with a variety of questions.
• Check in members, provide facility tours for new members, facilitate sign-ups, log amenities, and relay updates and events to members and guests.
• Address member questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
• Process beverage and merchandise transactions using the point of sale system.
• Assist with new membership card issuance, address changes, and billing or payment inquiries through the POS system.

Club Cleanliness and Maintenance:

• Maintain a clean and orderly front desk and lobby area.
• Ensure regular facility maintenance, which includes mopping spills, removing trash, cleaning windows and mirrors, and re-racking weights.
• Conduct routine cleaning of exercise equipment and tanning beds.
• Regularly clean and stock restrooms and wet areas.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Candidates must be willing to undergo a 7-year criminal background check within the first week of hire, with continued employment contingent upon a satisfactory result.
• Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to positively engage with members and co-workers, exceeding expectations.
• Previous customer service experience is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Possess an upbeat, positive, and professional demeanor.
• Punctuality and reliability are essential.
• Ability to obtain and maintain CPR/AED certification as per company guidelines and perform CPR/AED in emergencies.

Physical Demands/Requirements:

• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, with frequent requirements to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp, and perform repetitive hand motions.
• Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull moderate weights (up to 50 lbs).
• Capability to communicate continuously in person or via phone throughout the shift.
• Maintain physical ability to administer CPR in emergencies.
• Visual acuity within normal range, with or without correction.
• Auditory ability within normal range, with or without assistance.
