Position Summary
The Bartender is responsible for serving all beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service. This individual should possess a personable demeanor, maintain a professional attitude, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Dependability is crucial, and availability to work scheduled events as needed is essential. This role offers an hourly wage of $13 plus tips. For part-time roles, benefits include a 401(k) savings plan and matching.
Responsibilities
- Exhibit the ability to meet company standards for excellence in guest service, interaction with colleagues, and adherence to uniform requirements.
- Follow bar pre-shift notes and menus to provide services as prescribed.
- Serve alcoholic beverages in compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations governing alcohol distribution.
- Acquire knowledge of various beers, wines, and spirits, and be prepared to make suggestions and upsell products to guests.
- Pour drinks responsibly, adhering to company standards for serving sizes.
- Verify guests’ identification to ensure compliance with legal age requirements for alcohol consumption.
- Communicate necessary cut-off information to guests when required.
- Actively listen to and address customer requests or concerns.
- Manage intoxicated guest situations by de-escalating conflicts; if a situation escalates, contact management or security as necessary.
- Seek assistance from management for situations that exceed standard decision-making authority.
- Replenish inventory and request additional products as needed.
- Maintain accurate cash handling practices and be accountable for the cash drawer at the bar.
- Ensure a clean and sanitary workstation at all times, maintaining and cleaning bar equipment as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, including the setup and breakdown of bar equipment and assisting with cooler organization.
Qualifications
- A minimum of six months of bartending experience.
- Proven cash handling accuracy and proficiency.
- Strong prioritization skills in fast-paced settings.
- Ability to be self-directed while contributing to a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including nights, weekends, and extended hours.
- Completion of bartending school is preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Capacity to work in diverse weather conditions and at varying times.
Physical Dimensions
This position requires extensive standing and walking, with routine activities involving reaching, sitting, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. The employee should be able to lift up to 50 pounds and possess the ability to adjust focus, as well as both peripheral and close vision.
