We are seeking to fill a full-time Cashier/Food Service Worker position immediately at Andrews University, located at 8700 West Campus Circle Drive, Berrien Springs, MI 49104. Please note that we only accept online applications.

Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating the Point of Sale system, assisting the Chef, preparing coffee, and maintaining cleanliness at the coffee and cashier stations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing a variety of food items, including meats, vegetables, baked goods, and desserts, as well as catering orders.
  • Perform cashier duties utilizing the POS system.
  • Execute general cleaning responsibilities, including the disposal of trash and garbage.
  • Provide service across all retail areas, including cash handling and line serving.
  • Process transactions accurately according to established protocols, ensuring cash accuracy with receipts and making deposits at the end of each shift.
  • Inventory and restock supplies and food products as necessary.
  • Set up the serving line while monitoring food temperatures, and notify kitchen staff if discrepancies arise.
  • Serve both hot and cold items to customers.
  • Prepare items for sale on a daily basis.
  • Maintain stocked refrigerators and ensure product rotation following the first-in, first-out rule.
  • Restock pantries to meet designated par levels daily and accurately document replenished amounts.
  • Keep a record of refrigerator temperatures daily.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned.
