Job description:

Part-time position: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM. Training will be provided for this role.

As a Resident Assistant at The Gilbert Residence, you will deliver outstanding resident care under the supervision of a Med-Tech. Your responsibilities will include assisting residents with their activities of daily living, engaging in or leading activities, and performing general housekeeping duties within the assisted living or memory care unit. Our primary care objective is to help our residents maintain an optimal level of independence, especially regarding their daily activities and social interactions.

DUTIES

• Assist residents with bathing (tub or shower).
• Aid residents during mealtimes.
• Support residents with toileting (including the use of urinals, bedside commodes, and standard bathrooms).
• Assist residents with grooming (including hair care, nail care, and foot care).
• Provide assistance with oral hygiene and denture care.
• Measure resident intake and output.
• Collect urine and stool specimens.
• Help residents transfer from beds, chairs, or wheelchairs.
• Support residents in using mobility devices such as walkers, wheelchairs, canes, and braces.
• Perform active and passive range of motion exercises.
• Assist with ambulation.
• Aid residents in making their beds and maintaining cleanliness in their rooms.
• Weigh residents and take vital signs.
• Provide post-mortem care as necessary.
• Practice standard precautions and implement special isolation techniques when required.
• Assist residents in establishing a basic daily structure.
• Observe residents for any changes in function or behavior.
• Help organize and maintain the cleanliness of residents’ personal clothing.
• Function as a vital support to professional staff members.
• Attend staff meetings, in-service programs, and conferences on the unit.
• Perform any other duties as required.
