Position Summary
The Bartender is accountable for delivering exceptional beverage service, encompassing both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. This individual must possess a personable demeanor, exhibit professionalism, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Consistent attendance and availability to work events as dictated by business needs are essential for this role.
The hourly compensation for this position ranges from $11 to $13, exclusive of tips.

About the Venue
We are a High "A" affiliate of the Oakland Athletics, competing in the Eastern Division of the Midwest League. Celebrating our 18th year in Lansing in 2013, we are owned and operated by Take Me Out To the Ballgame and Professional Sports Marketing, with games hosted at Jackson Field in downtown Lansing, MI.

Responsibilities

  • Uphold the highest standards of guest service, professional interaction with coworkers, and adherence to uniform policies.
  • Review bar pre-shift notes and menus to ensure accurate service delivery.
  • Serve alcoholic beverages in compliance with all legal regulations and company procedures.
  • Acquire knowledge of various beer, wine, and spirit selections, with the ability to upsell products effectively.
  • Pour drinks responsibly, adhering to company-serving guidelines.
  • Verify guests’ ages by checking identification in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Communicate cutoff times to guests as necessary.
  • Address customer requests and concerns with attentiveness.
  • Effectively manage situations with intoxicated guests, contacting management or security when needed.
  • Seek management assistance for issues beyond the scope of standard decision-making.
  • Manage inventory by requesting additional products or restocking as required.
  • Maintain accurate cash-handling procedures and manage the assigned cash bank.
  • Ensure a clean and sanitary workstation, maintaining bar equipment to high standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including setup and breakdown of bar equipment and organization of supplies.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of six months of bartending experience.
  • Proficient cash handling skills.
  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting.
  • Capability to work independently while being part of a collaborative team.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Flexibility to work diverse hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Completion of bartending school is preferred.
