Job description:
We are seeking compassionate team members to join Brethren Care at Home as Care Companions in the Ashland area. The compensation for this role ranges from $14.00 to $15.80 per hour, with additional differential pay of $0.75 for evening shifts, $0.50 for night shifts, and $1.00 for weekend shifts.

As a Care Companion, you will play a vital role in supporting our mission and values. Your responsibilities will include providing personal care assistance, meal preparation, housekeeping, laundry, transportation, activity support, and enhancing the overall quality of care and services for clients in their home environment.

Key Responsibilities:
– Prepare specific food items in accordance with established standards for food preparation and service.
– Serve meals to clients, ensuring appropriate temperature, portion size, and timing.
– Conduct general cleaning duties throughout the client’s home, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and window cleaning.
– Perform laundry services, including washing, drying, folding, and organizing.
– Manage waste disposal, including recycling and garbage collection.
– Change and make beds with fresh linens.
– Collect and handle soiled laundry, performing necessary washing, drying, ironing, and minor repairs.
– Deliver mail and packages to clients.
– Provide transportation for clients when required.
– Assist clients with personal care needs.
– Communicate client needs and concerns to the supervisor.
– Attend and engage in team meetings as required by Brethren Care at Home.
– Participate in relevant in-services outside of Brethren Care Village for client support.
– Execute other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
– A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory.
– Training in geriatrics (nursing, social work, rehabilitation, or therapeutic recreation) or relevant prior work experience is preferred but not required.
