Job description:
We are seeking a dedicated Member Services Representative to join our team in a full-time afternoon/evening position. Bilingual candidates fluent in English and Spanish are strongly encouraged to apply. As a vital member of our organization, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service to Planet Fitness members, prospective members, and guests, ensuring a premier “Judgment Free” experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service and Front Desk Activities:
- Warmly greet members and guests, providing outstanding customer service to create a welcoming atmosphere.
- Answer incoming phone calls in a friendly manner, assisting callers with a range of inquiries.
- Check in members, conduct tours for new members, facilitate sign-ups, and log amenities while communicating updates and events to members and guests.
- Address member questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Process beverage and merchandise purchases using the point of sale system.
- Utilize the POS system to assist with new membership cards, address changes, and billing or payment inquiries.
Club Cleanliness and Maintenance:
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk area and lobby by going above and beyond.
- Ensure regular cleaning and upkeep of the facility, including mopping spills, removing trash, cleaning windows and mirrors, and re-racking weights.
- Regularly clean all exercise equipment and tanning beds.
- Uphold cleanliness standards for restrooms and wet areas, including stocking supplies as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Candidates for this position must undergo a 7-year criminal background check within the first week of employment; continued employment is contingent upon a satisfactory outcome.
- Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to interact positively and professionally with members and colleagues, exceeding member expectations.
- Prior customer service experience is preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Possess an upbeat, positive, and professional demeanor.
- Punctuality and reliability are essential.
- Must obtain and maintain CPR/AED certification within the required time frame and be physically capable of performing CPR/AED in case of a medical emergency.
Physical Demands/Requirements:
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, and frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp, and perform repetitive hand motions.
- Occasionally required to lift, carry, push, or pull moderate weights (up to 50 lbs).
- Ability to communicate effectively in person or over the phone throughout the shift.
- Maintain the physical ability to administer CPR as needed during emergencies.
- Ability to see within the normal visual range, with or without correction.
- Ability to hear within the normal audio range, with or without correction.
