About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. This vital role collaborates closely with a primary care physician to deliver outstanding patient care and ensure an exceptional guest experience. Unique to our model, Medical Assistants manage the entire patient journey, functioning as both Medical Receptionists and Medical Assistants fulfilling clinical responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The responsibilities outlined below exemplify the expectations for this position but are not exhaustive.

  • Escort patients to examination rooms, ensuring they are thoroughly cleaned and stocked.
  • Review prior medical information and collect any relevant updated health information from patients to share with the provider.
  • Measure vital signs, perform blood draws, administer injections, bandage wounds, assist with procedures, and cooperate with contracted labs for additional testing.
  • Prepare and administer approved medications and immunizations via the appropriate route, as directed by the provider’s written orders.
  • Collaborate with care team members to create individualized patient care plans, addressing any identified gaps in care.
  • Execute front desk responsibilities, including patient scheduling, managing medical record requests, documentation, coordinating specialist visits and referrals, check-in, and check-out processes.
  • Accurately document pertinent information in medical records following established guidelines.
  • Process and convey test results to patients in a timely manner through electronic messaging, mail, or phone per the provider’s specific instructions.
  • Engage in proactive outreach to patients to enhance participation among eligible patient demographics.
  • Maintain clinical and office supplies and equipment essential for treatments.

About You:

  • A minimum of one year of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in a Primary Care setting (requirements may vary based on clinic needs).
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program or closely related field.
  • National or state-specific Medical Assistant certification or registration is strongly preferred; certification or registration is mandatory in states where it is required.
  • CPR/BLS certification must be attained by the start date.
  • Phlebotomy experience is preferred.
