Job description:

We are currently seeking a motivated Member Services Representative to join our team in a part-time morning capacity. In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering exceptional customer service to Planet Fitness members, prospective members, and guests, ensuring a distinctively welcoming “Judgement Free” experience. Bilingual candidates fluent in English and Spanish are highly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service and Front Desk Activities:

• Warmly greet members and guests, providing outstanding customer service to create a comfortable and inviting atmosphere.
• Answer telephones in a friendly manner, offering assistance with a variety of inquiries.
• Check in members, conduct tours for prospective members, facilitate new member sign-ups, log amenities, and relay updates and events to both members and guests.
• Address member questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
• Process beverage and merchandise transactions utilizing the point-of-sale system.
• Navigate the POS system to assist with new membership cards, address changes, and billing or payment inquiries.

Club Cleanliness and Maintenance:

• Consistently maintain a clean and orderly front desk area and lobby.
• Perform routine cleaning and upkeep throughout the facility, including mopping spills under equipment, removing trash, cleaning windows and mirrors, and re-racking weights.
• Ensure regular cleaning of exercise equipment and tanning beds.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper stocking of restrooms and wet areas.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Candidates for this position must undergo a 7-year criminal background check within the first week of employment; continued employment will depend on the satisfactory outcome of this check.
• Exceptional customer service skills; ability to engage positively and professionally with members and co-workers, consistently exceeding member expectations.
• Previous customer service experience is preferred.
• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
• A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• A positive, upbeat, and professional attitude is essential.
• Punctuality and reliability are critical for success in this role.
• Candidates must obtain and maintain CPR/AED certification within the time frames specified by the company and be physically capable of performing CPR/AED if necessary.

Physical Demands and Requirements:

• Prolonged walking and standing; frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, twisting, grasping, and repetitive hand motions are required.
• Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderate weights of up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to communicate continuously in person or over the phone during the shift.
• Maintain the physical capability to administer CPR in case of a medical emergency.
• Sufficient visual and auditory ability is required, with or without correction.
