What We Are Seeking:

We are looking for an individual who is friendly, tech-savvy, organized, adept at multitasking, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. As a Receptionist, you will serve as the first point of contact for our customers, making it essential to create a remarkable experience from the moment they arrive. This position entails checking in new and existing patients in accordance with state and CRA requirements, creating patient profiles, and providing general assistance as needed. The successful candidate will participate in our comprehensive JARS University training program, which will take place both virtually and in-person at our mock-store training facility, ensuring a thorough understanding of JARS’ policies, procedures, and company culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify customers’ legal age, register new customers in the POS system, and scan returning customers.
  • Check customer purchasing allotments through the POS system during check-in.
  • Promote the JARS brand and generate excitement among customers.
  • Welcome all guests and customers with a positive, upbeat, and friendly demeanor.
  • Maintain professional greetings and salutations for all customers at all times.
  • Assist with curbside and online orders as needed.
  • Answer phones with proper etiquette and professionalism.
  • Provide customers with comprehensive information regarding products, store hours, location, daily specials, and our website.
  • Emphasize the JARS Loyalty Program, along with campaigns, events, and daily communications.
  • Arrive promptly and presented for each scheduled shift.
  • Communicate effectively with budtenders for order completion updates.
  • Create memorable and personable experiences for all store patrons.
  • Ensure compliance with Michigan regulations and CRA standards at all times.
  • Perform opening, mid-day, and closing tasks, including general upkeep of the reception area.
  • Support store management in an administrative capacity as required.
  • Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and protocols consistently.
  • Monitor customer queues to maintain efficiency.
  • Keep all online and paper menus current with daily offerings.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1 year of customer service experience in a retail, sales, or hospitality environment is required.
  • At least 1 year of previous administrative and/or Front Desk Receptionist experience.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, multitasking capabilities, and effective follow-up are essential.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Capability to work cooperatively as part of a team.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A high school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) is required.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • The role requires some standing, as well as bending, stooping, and stretching.
  • Ability to operate a computer, POS system, and other office equipment is necessary.
  • Work will typically take place in a fast-paced retail cannabis dispensary.
  • Frequent interaction with patients and staff is involved.
  • Availability to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and special events as needed.
