Job description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer with a strong foundation in networking technologies and a deep passion for Operational Technology (OT) networks. This position will primarily require onsite presence in Hiram, Ohio, for four days each week, where you will support the organization’s infrastructure and network operations. The Senior Network Engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration and operation of OT systems and networks, offering technical expertise, troubleshooting, and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage complex network systems and configurations.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
  • Work with Operational Technology (OT) systems to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient integration with IT networks.
  • Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.
  • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize network resources.
  • Collaborate with IT and OT teams to maintain seamless connectivity, security, and network uptime.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for network architecture, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Participate in planning and executing network upgrades, expansions, and migrations.
  • Perform regular network audits and security assessments to uphold a robust security posture.
  • Provide third-level support for network issues, escalating to vendors or higher-level teams as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices regarding networking and OT security.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • A minimum of CCNA certification required; higher certifications are preferred.
  • Proven experience in a Network Engineer, Senior Network Engineer, or a similar role focused on both IT and OT networks.
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and network devices (routers, switches, firewalls).
  • Experience with OT networks, industrial control systems (ICS), SCADA systems, and related protocols.
  • Background in network design, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and optimization in both IT and OT environments.
  • Familiarity with network security best practices, firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Proficient in analyzing and resolving network issues efficiently, showcasing excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while thriving in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Higher-level Cisco certifications (CCNP or CCIE).
  • Experience with automation and scripting (Python, PowerShell, etc.).
