Job description:
The Public Health Project Coordinator (SUD Project Coordinator) will be responsible for coordinating the planning, implementation, and evaluation of Behavioral Health program initiatives related to the Opioid Settlement, aimed at addressing substance use disorders in the community. This role requires collaboration with various stakeholders, management of project timelines, and adherence to relevant regulations and best practices. The coordinator will also provide support and resources to other team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Behavioral Health Program Manager to monitor and evaluate the implementation and progress of the Opioid Settlement program and related initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and funding requirements.
- Assist in developing and managing timelines, performance metrics, and deliverables to meet program objectives effectively and punctually.
- Prepare comprehensive, regular program reports detailing project progress, outcomes, and challenges for review by management.
- Support compliance efforts by ensuring adherence to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate and schedule behavioral health outreach activities to enhance community engagement and resource distribution.
- Assist in monitoring client follow-up related to case management and service referrals.
- Actively participate in community meetings and coalition activities to represent the organization and foster collaborative partnerships.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network (DWIHN) prevention and treatment providers to bolster the referral network and enhance service delivery.
- Oversee the ordering, maintenance, and distribution of harm reduction supplies, ensuring adequate stock and proper utilization.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the program manager or director.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Understanding of substance use disorders, treatment modalities, and recovery principles.
- Familiarity with harm reduction strategies and best practices in substance use disorder care.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to substance use and mental health.
- Strong project management skills.
