Hartrick Veterinary Clinic is excited to announce an opportunity for a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our dedicated team! Shift Details:

  • Flexible schedules including 4 full days or 3 full days with two half days, along with rotating Saturdays.
  • Clinic Hours: Monday-Friday from 8 AM to 6 PM, Saturday from 9 AM to 2 PM.
  • Compensation: Starting at $22 – $28 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-patient medical care, including administering medications, performing diagnostics and treatments, and monitoring patients’ health.
  • Prepare, induce, and monitor anesthesia; maintain and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Deliver dental care, assist with ultrasonic cleaning and dental surgery.
  • Position patients for radiography and assist in obtaining radiographs.
  • Collect, prepare, and submit laboratory samples for testing; read and record results when necessary.
  • Prepare invoices, discharge instructions, and client education materials.
  • Communicate with clients regarding hospitalized patients, providing updates and follow-up care instructions.
  • Educate clients on at-home care procedures.
  • Assist in outpatient appointments, including patient check-ins, gathering history, and ensuring a smooth flow of operations.
  • Provide front desk support as needed, answering phones and scheduling appointments.
  • Mentor and train new team members.
  • Manage inventory control by notifying the inventory manager of low supplies and restocking as needed.
  • Prepare prescriptions, including dispensed medications and refills.

Qualifications and Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb; capable of lifting and moving up to 50 pounds independently and over 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Endurance to sit, stand, and walk on hard surfaces for extended periods.
  • Good ambulatory skills to perform duties effectively in a clinical environment.
  • Comfortable working in noisy conditions, with exposure to animals and equipment.
  • Routine exposure to pets that may bite or scratch and occasional exposure to anesthesia, radiation, and medical substances.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination, dexterity, and visual acuity for operating equipment and using a keyboard.
