Job description:

As the Production Supervisor, you will be instrumental in overseeing the daily operations concerning safety, quality, and production procedures while leading team members throughout the shift. Your role will involve mentoring front-line operators and coordinating with both contractors and ADM personnel to ensure that all team members have the necessary training and resources for safe and effective operations. Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate daily operational activities carried out by hourly production staff, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational efficiency, while meeting environmental quality, housekeeping, and production quantity standards set by the company.
  • Provide team members with well-maintained resources that facilitate safe job performance and deliver essential training for the proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Assign work tasks to shift personnel in a manner that optimally utilizes their training and expertise.
  • Uphold the safety of all associates by ensuring compliance with occupational safety, health, and environmental regulations, consistently promoting the mindset that accidents are preventable, and leading through example.
  • Identify and mitigate environmental, safety, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) hazards, engaging in discussions to ensure colleagues’ safety, product quality, and environmental integrity while making recommendations for improvements. Conduct GMP, safety, health, and environmental inspections regularly.
  • Actively listen to and address colleague suggestions and concerns regarding safety, health, environmental issues, product quality, and cleanliness, while effectively communicating all concerns and enhancement initiatives to team members.
  • Foster open communication and maintain high morale among team members, keeping management informed of any matters that may impact colleague morale and safety.
  • Identify training requirements in collaboration with the Production Superintendent and develop tailored training plans that drive a high level of job proficiency among colleagues. Acknowledge and reinforce safe and effective performance.
  • Assess colleague performance consistently, offering regular feedback and collaborating with management on disciplinary matters as necessary.
  • Participate in operational meetings, safety briefings, and supervisor gatherings, evaluating management programs.
  • Analyze safety incidents by preparing and completing Incident Analysis reports within 24 hours of an occurrence while suggesting improvements.
  • Carry out production duties in emergency situations or during employee absences as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in plant processing and leadership is preferred.
  • A demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Proven ability to lead and train colleagues and create cohesive teams.
  • Quick analytical skills to provide feedback on the manufacturing process and troubleshoot equipment failures effectively.
  • Strong communication, organizational, troubleshooting, and record-keeping competencies.

  • Availability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Capability to remain seated, standing, or walking for extended periods while performing job duties.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights, with bending and kneeling capabilities, as well as the ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly and wear a respirator.
