Position Overview
The Coffee Sales Advisor will act as an enthusiastic representative for our client, Nespresso, and their premium range of espresso and coffee machines. This role is part of a nationwide sales and promotional campaign taking place in select flagship houseware retailers such as Sur La Table, Williams Sonoma, Macy’s, Crate & Barrel, and Bloomingdale’s. In this in-store expert position, you will engage with customers and provide live machine demonstrations, emphasizing the many reasons why Nespresso brewing products stand out in the market. Nespresso operates under the belief that neither quality nor environmental responsibility should be compromised. Through their Positive Cup Campaign, Nespresso has integrated sustainability initiatives into their business operations, championing the idea that the coffee sector can significantly contribute to reducing waste, promoting regenerative agriculture, and fostering resilient communities and farming livelihoods. As a Nespresso Expert, you will play a crucial role in highlighting this sustainable business model and demonstrating how the brand caters to diverse taste preferences, enhancing customers’ morning routines with barista-quality experiences at home.

Schedule & Location

  • 8 hours per weekend
  • Saturdays and Sundays: 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
  • Locations: Sur La Table and Williams-Sonoma, Troy, MI 48084

What We Offer

Duties

  • Exhibit enthusiasm and passion for the Nespresso brand consistently
  • Deliver the full Nespresso experience through coffee tastings, engaging demonstrations, and tailored product recommendations that align with customers’ flavor preferences
  • Drive product sales and machine registrations through expert demonstrations and extensive knowledge of products and coffee
  • Conclude demonstrations using positive sales closing techniques while communicating Nespresso’s sustainability and recycling initiatives
  • Train store associates to confidently communicate Nespresso information
  • Utilize the Nespresso Trade mobile app to register machine purchases and coffee orders
  • Maintain the tasting table/demo area in accordance with hygiene standards and visual expectations
  • Ensure demo machines are clean and operational
  • Build positive professional relationships with store leaders and associates
  • Participate in mandatory training sessions and team conference calls
  • Provide feedback and documentation following each shift through surveys with pictures

Qualifications

  • Experience in retail, sales, or training is preferred
  • An enthusiast of coffee-related beverages
  • Previous experience in food demonstrations is a plus
  • Engaging personality with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Comfort with presenting to individuals and groups

Physical Requirements

  • Must adhere to professional appearance standards
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. without assistance
  • Access to a personal smartphone with a data plan for use during work shifts
  • Availability of a Wi-Fi-enabled personal tablet or laptop for use during work hours
