Job description:

We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Member Services Representative to become part of our team! Bilingual candidates in English and Spanish are strongly encouraged to apply. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering an exceptional “Judgement Free” experience for Planet Fitness members, prospective members, and guests through outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service and Front Desk Activities:

  • Greet members and guests warmly, ensuring a welcoming and comfortable environment.
  • Answer phone inquiries in a friendly manner and assist callers with various questions.
  • Check members in, conduct tours for prospective members, enroll new members, track amenities, and communicate relevant updates and events.
  • Address member inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Process beverage or merchandise purchases using the point of sale system.
  • Utilize the POS system to assist with new membership cards, address changes, and billing or payment inquiries.

Club Cleanliness and Maintenance:

  • Maintain an immaculate front desk and lobby area, ensuring cleanliness and order.
  • Engage in regular facility upkeep, including mopping spills, trash removal, cleaning windows and mirrors, and re-racking weights.
  • Conduct routine cleaning of all exercise equipment and tanning beds.
  • Ensure restrooms and wet areas are cleaned and stocked consistently.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Candidates must consent to a 7-year criminal background check within the first week of employment; continued employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of this check.
  • Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to engage positively and professionally with members and colleagues, consistently exceeding expectations.
  • Previous customer service experience is preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Possess an upbeat, positive, and professional demeanor.
  • Punctuality and reliability are essential.
  • Obtain and maintain CPR/AED certification within the stipulated timeframes, and retain the physical ability to perform CPR/AED in a medical emergency.

Physical Demands and Requirements:

  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods; frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp, and perform repetitive hand motions.
  • Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull moderate weights (up to 50 lbs).
  • Capacity to communicate continuously in person or on the phone throughout the shift.
  • Maintain the physical capability to administer CPR in a medical emergency.
  • Ability to see within a normal visual range, with or without correction.
  • Ability to hear within a normal audio range, with or without correction.
