The average annual salary for this position is $85,000. Work hours are Monday to Friday with early morning starts. Additionally, we offer a generous $10,000 sign-on bonus!

Position Purpose:
Our food and food service delivery drivers play an essential role in the nation’s food supply chain. They ensure that customer products arrive at their destinations safely and on schedule, while also serving as the face of our company and establishing lasting relationships with customers.

As a driver, you will operate a tractor trailer or straight truck on local intrastate and interstate routes, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight deliveries to transport and unload food and related products in a safe and timely manner, adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Primary Responsibilities:
– Engage and communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and coworkers to ensure timely and accurate responses to inquiries.
– Collaborate effectively with team members and perform assigned duties to support the organization’s objectives.
– Conduct all required safety inspections, including pre- and post-trip checks of the tractor/truck and trailer, ensuring compliance with DOT safety standards and addressing any issues promptly.
– Report safety concerns and required repairs without delay.
– Adhere strictly to DOT regulations and company driving guidelines.
– Immediately report safety hazards and verify that trailers are properly loaded and secured.
– Conduct item count checks and verify customer invoices against loaded products.
– Complete all necessary freight-related paperwork accurately and legibly.
– Maneuver the tractor to the loading dock and attach preloaded trailers as necessary.
– Deliver and unload customer orders following the predetermined delivery route.
– Transport items to designated customer storage areas and perform damage control checks on delivered products, alerting a supervisor when necessary.
– Confirm item delivery with customers and collect required signatures.
– Collect payments (cash or checks) as needed and secure trailer doors.
– Ensure the security of the tractor, trailer, and freight at all times.
– Manage the return of damaged goods and customer returns, completing necessary documentation.
– Perform general housekeeping duties in the tractor and loading dock area, maintaining cleanliness and order.
– At the end of your shift, secure all equipment and finalize all required paperwork.
– Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
– A minimum of 12 months of commercial driving experience.
– High school diploma, GED, or state-approved equivalent.
– Valid CDL A license.
– Compliance with all state licensing and certification requirements (where applicable).
– Must be at least 21 years of age.
– Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past three years.
– Successful completion of post-offer drug testing and criminal background checks.
– Passing score on a road test.
– Valid current DOT Health Card or the ability to secure a new DOT Health Card.
– Capacity to hand-lift and utilize equipment such as two-wheelers, lift gates, and other devices to move and stack product cases/freight of varying sizes and weights throughout your shift; typical product weights range from 10-35 pounds, with some items weighing between 60 and 90 pounds depending on the delivery location.
