Cook Essential Functions:

  • Arrive at work in a professionally presented, neat, and clean uniform
  • Greet all guests warmly and positively, making personal connections to ensure they feel welcomed and appreciated
  • Anticipate and meet guests’ needs and expectations, going above and beyond when possible
  • Prepare all required items per recipes and make sheets
  • Set up service units with necessary items
  • Serve items following established portion and presentation standards
  • Communicate expected shortages to the Kitchen Supervisor promptly
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in assigned work areas and equipment
  • Support the Kitchen Supervisor in ensuring security and safety within the kitchen
  • Set up, maintain, and dismantle the prep cook station
  • Requisition necessary items for menu item production
  • Abide by local health and safety regulations
  • Maintain any required logs as mandated by the health department
  • Properly cover, date, and store all reusable leftover products
  • Uphold the highest standards of sanitation
  • Demonstrate regular and reliable attendance
  • Fulfill additional duties as requested by management

Cook Uniform and Appearance Guidelines:
Cook Uniform: Uniform shirt and name tag will be provided. Team members are responsible for procuring Suburban Inns-approved black slacks and black, close-toed, non-slip shoes.

Cook Appearance: Visible earrings are permitted in the ears only or must be covered during the shift. Hair must be kept in a natural color and well-groomed. This policy will be enforced by the position’s supervisor, without consideration of race, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability, height, weight, genetics, familial status, veteran status, or other protected characteristics. The Vice President of Operations retains the authority to overturn any supervisor’s decision regarding appearance.
