Job description:

The Vice President of Marketing for eCommerce Solutions will play a pivotal role in driving growth by attracting digital small and medium-sized business (SMB) merchants to our service offerings. This leadership position will entail spearheading Synchrony-sourced campaigns and fostering strategic partnerships with leading eCommerce platforms such as Adobe and BigCommerce. The successful candidate will serve as Synchrony’s Partner Manager, cultivating strong and productive relationships to effectively promote our partnership across both the platform and Synchrony’s marketing channels, thereby acquiring additional merchants for our eCommerce Solutions.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement comprehensive B2B omni-channel marketing strategies, integrating traditional, digital, trade shows, and partner channels.
  • Develop scalable lead generation and nurturing programs through a diversified approach including events, paid advertising, email, retargeting, direct mail, and content promotion.
  • Lead the digital strategy in collaboration with digital teams to optimize SEO, SEM, email campaigns, and social media initiatives as applicable.
  • Formulate and communicate compelling value propositions for eCommerce Solutions, including business cases and comprehensive pitch decks.
  • Support product strategy and design value propositions through thorough merchant research, testing, development, and launch initiatives.
  • Develop guidelines to establish digital best practices for merchants integrating financing into their website strategies and broader digital marketing efforts.
  • Identify, prioritize, and align marketing and eCommerce Solution strategies collaboratively with key stakeholders.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of competitor products and experiences to identify opportunities for enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Build and nurture key relationships within partner organizations to facilitate collaborative marketing campaigns.
  • Collaborate with eCommerce partners, agencies, and Synchrony teams to ensure seamless execution of acquisition marketing initiatives.
  • Work effectively with cross-functional teams in sales, marketing, credit, and operations to consistently achieve profitable sales outcomes while delivering additional value to our partners.
  • Communicate effectively across various functions at all levels within the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal and partner legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Undertake additional duties and eCommerce Solutions projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or a high school diploma along with 10 years of marketing experience in lieu of a degree.
  • A minimum of 5 years of marketing experience, preferably within the financial services sector, focusing on strategic planning and marketing optimization.
  • Previous experience in a client-facing role or managing critical partnerships.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.

This position offers a competitive salary range of $110,000.00 – $185,000.00 USD annually, with eligibility for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance. Actual compensation will be determined based on work experience, skill level, and market adjustments, particularly in regions such as California, New York Metro, and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Willingness to undergo a drug test, background investigation, and fingerprinting as a part of the onboarding process.
  • Must meet the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

New hires at levels 4-7 must complete 9 months of continuous service before applying for other roles, while those at level 8 or higher must have at least 18 months in their current position. Performance expectations and managerial approval are required for internal postings.
