Position Details:
The average salary for this position is $85,000 per year. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, starting in the early morning. A generous sign-on bonus of $10,000 is offered.

Position Purpose:
Delivery drivers play an essential role in the nation’s food supply chain, ensuring that customer products are delivered on time and in excellent condition. As the face of the company, our drivers build lasting relationships with clients while fulfilling their delivery responsibilities.

The driver is tasked with operating a tractor-trailer or straight truck for local, interstate, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight routes to deliver and unload food and related products safely and punctually, in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Primary Responsibilities:
– Professionally communicate and engage with customers, vendors, and co-workers, ensuring timely and accurate responses to inquiries.
– Collaborate as a team member within the department and organization, fulfilling any assigned duties to serve the company’s objectives effectively.
– Conduct all required safety checks (pre/post-trip) and inspect the tractor/truck and trailer as per DOT regulations to ensure compliance with company safety standards, taking appropriate actions as necessary.
– Report any safety issues and/or repairs needed immediately.
– Adhere to all DOT regulations and the company’s safe driving guidelines and policies.
– Identify and report safety hazards promptly, ensuring the trailer is properly loaded and freight is secured.
– Perform item count checks and verify customer invoices for loaded products.
– Complete all required paperwork related to freight in an accurate and legible manner.
– Maneuver the tractor to the loading dock and attach preloaded trailers as necessary.
– Deliver customer orders following a predetermined route delivery schedule.
– Unload products from the trailer and transport them to designated storage areas within the customer’s location.
– Conduct damage assessments on items, scan products, and liaise with supervisors regarding order removals, in accordance with company policy.
– Confirm delivery of items with customers and obtain necessary signatures.
– Collect payments (cash or checks) as required and secure customer returns back onto the trailer.
– Ensure the tractor, trailer, and freight are securely locked at all times.
– Manage the unloading of damaged goods and customer returns, complete necessary paperwork at driver check-in, and maintain cleanliness within trailers.
– Maintain a daily record of hours worked in compliance with Federal DOT, state, and company regulations.
– Perform general housekeeping duties to keep the tractor, loading dock area, and trailers clear and tidy.
– At the end of shifts, secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork.
– Carry out other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
– A minimum of 12 months of commercial driving experience is required.
– A high school diploma or GED (or state-approved equivalent).
– A valid CDL A license.
– Compliance with all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
– Candidates must be 21 years of age.
– A clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past three years.
– Successful completion of a post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
– Passing of a road test.
– A valid and current DOT Health Card or the ability to obtain a new one.
– Ability to hand-lift and utilize a two-wheeler, lift gate, and/or other equipment to move and stack product cases/freight of varying sizes and weights throughout shifts, typically ranging from 10-35 pounds up to 60-90 pounds depending on the location.
