Job description:
This labor-intensive position involves the hand-loading of pallets for both bulk and route delivery trucks, demanding meticulous attention to order accuracy during the loading of outgoing trucks and the unloading of incoming shipments. The successful candidate will operate from an electronic order system or order sheets to build loads, utilizing a forklift and/or electronic pallet jack. Responsibilities include ensuring accuracy in loading and adhering to shipper/receiver documentation. Adherence to warehouse protocols for building loads is essential, along with maintaining a clean and safe working environment. The position may require working under various weather conditions, with shift durations that may vary daily based on workload.

Key responsibilities include:
– Transferring full pallets of products from the warehouse to trailers and managing the return of any pallets or plastic flats.
– Selecting specific packages and product flavors from the warehouse for loading onto pallets, ensuring stability through proper stacking and shrink-wrapping, typically for local delivery.
– Customizing product/package selections for route trucks based on sales orders and managing returned products and pallets/plastic flats.

This role mandates lifting a substantial volume of product cases each day, ranging from 20-45 pounds, necessitating sustained physical activity such as standing, walking, bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, and grasping throughout long work periods.

Primary Job Accountabilities:
– Operate a power pallet jack or forklift to navigate to the picking area and build pallets/loads per load sheets or voice pick audio equipment (if applicable).
– Document out-of-stock items on the load ticket.
– Securely wrap completed pallets/loads.
– Submit paperwork with orders for verification prior to loading and ensure that trucks are checked.
– Stage pallets for loading into trucks when ready.
– Complete partial pallets and organize mixed pallets.
– Uphold high housekeeping standards in the work area.
– Demonstrate regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.

Basic Qualifications:
– Must be 18 years of age or older.

Helpful Experience:
– Background in warehouse environments, such as order selection, product storage, staging, and use of powered pallet jacks/forklifts.
– Experience operating forklifts, including basic functionalities like maneuvering forwards and backwards, lifting, lowering the boom, and navigating tight spaces.
– Familiarity with racking systems and the processes involved in loading and unloading pallets to maximize vertical storage.
– Proven experience in a collaborative team setting, emphasizing cooperation and joint problem-solving.
