Job description:

We are seeking to fill both full-time and part-time Cashier positions immediately. This opportunity is located at the Cleveland Museum of Art, situated at 11150 East Boulevard, Cleveland, OH 44106. Please note that online applications are exclusively accepted for this role.

The schedule for this position includes full-time and part-time shifts, available from Tuesday to Sunday, between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Additional evening shifts may be required, with more details provided during the interview process.

Job Summary:
In this role, you will perform cashiering duties, which entail executing cash transactions, verifying cash drawers, issuing change, counting cash receipts, and completing cash reports. Additional responsibilities may include general food service work, as well as maintaining sanitation standards within preparation, service, and dining areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct sales transactions promptly and efficiently.
  • Accurately enter all sales into the cash register to ensure proper recording of purchases.
  • Provide change, accept various payment methods, and issue receipts to customers.
  • Adhere to standard procedures for processing cash refunds.
  • Engage with customers and address any complaints in a friendly and service-oriented manner.
  • Manage assigned change funds and cash receipts, ensuring compliance with overage/shortage standards.
  • Observe and differentiate customer purchases in the café line.
  • Replenish condiments, beverages, and general supplies while maintaining cleanliness in service areas.
  • Keep the pastry case well-stocked.
  • Adhere to company service standards as well as inventory and cash control processes.
  • Comply with all sanitation and safety regulations, including ServSafe requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
