Shift Schedule:
Friday to Saturday, 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM

Job Purpose and Overview:
As a Machine Operator, you will utilize raw materials to complete mix formulas, blend ingredients for batches, and package materials for shipment or palletizing.

Minimum Qualifications to be Considered for the Machine Operator Role:

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals, with the ability to write routine reports
  • Effective communication skills for interaction with team members
  • Basic mathematical skills to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in various units of measure
  • Ability to apply common sense in following written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions
  • Problem-solving skills in variable situations
  • Capability to work collaboratively in a team or independently
  • Forklift certification is advantageous; ability to become certified is required
  • Basic computer skills are beneficial

Key Responsibilities as a Machine Operator I at Dawn Foods:

  • Ensure all products meet specifications, food safety, and regulatory standards
  • Uphold high cleanliness standards in alignment with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), American Institute of Baking (AIB), International Food Standard (IFS), and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP)
  • Operate computer systems accurately as required in production processes
  • Manage auxiliary equipment for each respective task
  • Maintain safe operating procedures according to manuals, training, and batch card instructions to produce high-quality, food-safe products
  • Adhere to all Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) and GMP, including pre-start checklists, scale checks, forklift checklists, label code dates, formula lot numbers, and batch verification counts
  • Communicate any quality, safety, scheduling, or food safety concerns to team leads or supervisors promptly
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation
  • Perform all duties in accordance with company GMPs, SOPs, and safety protocols
  • Assist in training new team members
  • Follow facility guidelines regarding Food Defense and Security
  • Execute all role functions as outlined and perform additional responsibilities as assigned
